Rum Slush

Rum Slush cocktails are a cool and refreshing frozen cocktail that can be made ahead for 4th of July parties and summer celebrations. Made with just a few ingredients and your favorite rum.

I am always in charge of the drinks for parties and family gatherings and I love having fun options for the kids and the adults. We made are making Red, White and Blue Slushes for the kids this weekend and the adults will be enjoying the rum version.

Rum Slush ~ Easy Frozen Cocktails

These Red, White and Blue Rum Slush cocktails are just the ticket for any July 4th party or patriotic celebration. They are perfectly cool and refreshing to enjoy all summer long.

Ingredients Needed:

  • Hawaiian Punch ~ Fruit Juicy Red.
  • Hawaiian Punch ~ Polar Blast.
  • Sprite ~ Or any lemon-lime soda.
  • Light Rum ~ We used Bacardi, use your favorite.

How to Make Rum Slush Cocktails:

  • Fill ice trays with each kind of Hawaiian Punch and Sprite. Freeze overnight or until frozen solid.
  • Blend each kind of ice cubes until it is like shaved ice.
  • Return each one to the freezer until ready to serve, covering if you are making ahead.

  • Layer frozen into glasses with the red Hawaiian Punch, the Sprite and then the Polar Blast.
  • Use a cocktail jigger to pour a double shot of rum over the top.
  • Serve immediately.

How to Make Ahead:

  • The frozen slush can be layered in mason jars, covered and frozen up to 3 months. Pour rum over just before serving.
  • Each frozen slush can also be kept in separate freezer bags up to 1 month.

Variations:

  • Use vodka in place of the rum.
  • Frozen lemonade, Kool-aid or any fruit punch will work with this recipe.
