  • Crispix Cereal or Chex Cereal
  • Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
  • Peanut Butter – Creamy peanut butter or crunchy peanut butter
  • Powdered Sugar
  • Holiday M&M’s Candies 

Step-by-Step Instructions for Christmas Puppy Chow Recipe

  1. Measure cereal and pour into a large bowl and set aside.

  1. Add chocolate chips and peanut butter to a saucepan and cook over low heat.

  1. Stir constantly until all melted.

  1. Add half of powdered sugar to a gallon size baggie.
  2. Add cereal to the baggie and add the rest of the powdered sugar.

  1. Seal the bag and turn over and over until the cereal is coated in powdered sugar.

  1. Pour onto a large rimmed baking sheet and spread to a single layer.
  2. Cool to room temperature about 30 minutes.

  1. Add m&ms candies and place in an airtight container or zip top baggie.

  • Yield: 20 servings
  • Storage: Store in an airtight container at room temperature up to 3 days or in the refrigerator up to 7 days. Freeze for up to 3 months.
  • Peanut Butter: I used chunky but smooth works just as well. If you prefer other nut butters, that works too.
  • Chocolate: I used semi-sweet chocolate chips, milk chocolate or dark chocolate are also great options.
  • Cereal: I used Crispix because it has corn and rice in one box. You can also use Rice Chex and Corn Chex if that is what you have.
  • Microwave: Peanut butter and chocolate can be melted in a microwave-safe bowl. Cook in 30 second intervals and stir in between until melted and smooth.
