Recipe Notes and Variations for Green Punch

  • Yield: 8 Servings
  • Best Vodka for Punch: Use your favorite brand, we used Smirnoff for this recipe. Light rum can be substituted for the vodka if preferred.
  • Make Ahead: Punch can be made up to 4 hours ahead and refrigerated. Stir before serving. If preparing the day before, add the ginger ale just before serving and mix well.
  • Green Sherbet Punch: Make this a classic sherbet punch by mixing it up in a large punch bowl and adding scoops of lime sherbet. Vanilla ice cream is also delicious in this punch.
  • Garnish Ideas: Maraschino cherries make a great garnish for the green grinch drink. Red stripe straws are a great idea for the kids.
  • Storage: Leftover punch can be refrigerated up to 2 days. Store in an airtight container, ginger ale will lose its fizz after a day.
  • Occasions: This green punch recipe is the perfect color for Christmas time and New Year’s Eve Parties. This green punch would also be perfect for St. Patrick’s Day or any green themed celebration.

  1. If you can’t get Kool aid (real hard to get in Canada) I swapped the koolaid, 4 cups water and the simple syrup With 2 cups of lime cordial from the dollar store and some food colouring to get the right shade of green.
    Yummy!
