What Soup to Make with Leftover Ham?
We always have such a feast for Thanksgiving and the leftovers are downright amazing. I make a Peach and Ginger Glazed Honey Ham for every holiday and the leftovers are perfect in this Creamy Ham and Potato Soup!
Leftover ham is ideal for this quick and easy ham and potato soup. I cut the potatoes into small chunks so they would cook quickly. I like bite- sized pieces for soup, it’s easier to eat.
How to Make Creamy Ham and Potato Soup:
This recipe is really quite simple. I sautéed onions, garlic, celery and carrots and added chicken broth, DairyPure milk, ham and potatoes. I heated until it was almost boiling and then turned it down to simmer for about 30 minutes.
I stirred in a little cheese and topped it off with a little bacon for good measure. It made for a hearty meal and the whole clan really enjoyed it.
This turns out to be a delicious Cheesy Ham and Potato Soup! We also love this Slow Cooker Cheesy Ham and Potato Casserole for leftover ham!
My family goes crazy for my Slow Cooker Cheesy Smoked Sausage and Idaho Potato Soup or this Quick Smoked Sausage Potato Soup. Tuscan Sausage Potato Soup, so I knew this ham and potato version would be a big hit. I was right and it was lick-the-bowl delicious.
If you are a soup fanatic, the best clam chowder has to go on your must-try list along with this Easy Stuffed Pepper Soup.

With the cold front coming in, this is the recipe I will be cooking. Nice to have something that looks so delicious, for my leftover ham also.
YUM! Looks wonderful!
Thanks Mary!
This soup is delicious! I didn’t use bacon or celery, just celery salt because my hubby isn’t into celery even cooked down. Haha thank you for sharing!
