The key to this 4 ingredient chicken soup is to use the best quality ingredients. We start with homemade chicken broth and use smoked chicken for this soup for the most flavor.
Ingredients Needed
- Homemade Chicken Broth ~ Homemade is best but if you are using store bought, go for a quality bone broth.
- Smoked Chicken ~ Use white or dark meat, this is a great recipe to use up leftovers from a smoked whole chicken.
- Canned Chickpeas ~ Canned beans are one of our pantry staples for quick meals, if you have time to cook dried chickpeas, that works too.
- Chives or Green Onions ~ Optional for garnish.

- Sautéed Vegetables: Carrots, celery, onions, bell peppers or mushrooms.
- Pasta: Broken fettuccine, macaroni, orzo or diatlini.
