I love dessert bars, they are just so easy to pop in the oven and so easy to take to family get togethers, cookouts and holiday gatherings.

My Lemon Bars with Cream Cheese Icing, Pecan Pie Bars, and Salted Caramel Cookie Bars are always crowd favorites too. We can’t get enough of these Chocolate Toffee Bars for an easy dessert. These old fashioned Date Bars are also a big hit.

Cherry Almond Bars Dessert

I adapted this recipe from an old Taste of Home holiday magazine that I’ve had for over 10 years. I might be a recipe hoarder.

The original recipe had walnuts and vanilla. I switched those out for almond extract and sliced almonds and added the cream cheese icing.
