Ingredients for Baked Rigatoni Recipe

  • Olive Oil
  • Onion – yellow onion or white onion
  • Minced Garlic
  • Lean Ground Beef
  • Kosher Salt
  • Black Pepper
  • Tomato Sauce
  • Italian Seasoning or Dried Basil and Thyme
  • Rigatoni Pasta
  • Heavy Whipping Cream
  • Mozzarella Cheese
  • Parmesan Cheese
  • Fresh Herbs for Garnish: Fresh Parsley, Fresh Basil or Fresh Thyme

Step-By-Step Directions for Baked Rigatoni with Ground Beef

  1. Add olive oil to a large skillet  with diced onion and minced garlic. Cook over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes, or until onions are softened. Stir in lean ground beef, season with salt and pepper. Cook, stirring to break up until meat is no longer pink and just starts to brown.

  1. Add tomato sauce, dried thyme and basil. Mix well.
  2. Stir in cream. Lower to simmer.

  1. Bring a pan of water to a boil and add rigatoni. Add 1 teaspoon salt and cook for 6 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  1. Drain rigatoni noodles and stir into meat sauce. Pour into a casserole dish or if you are using an oven safe skillet, top with shredded mozzarella and grated Parmesan cheese.

  • Leftovers: Store leftover pasta bake in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 days. 
  • Reheat: Place baked rigatoni pasta in a skillet with 1-2 tablespoons of water, cook over medium heat, stirring occasionally until heated through. Pasta can also be reheated in the oven in a baking dish at 350° for about 15 minutes.

  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil

  • 16 oz rigatoni pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 8 oz shredded mozzarella
  • 2 oz finely grated Parmesan
  • fresh parsley for garnish

Instructions
