The classic Amaretto Sour is one of my favorite cocktails and this apple version is just as delicious. If you have amaretto on hand, be sure to give this delicious Italian Margarita a try.

I love a simple cocktail for entertaining and this apple cider cocktail is the easiest. The crisp apple cider pairs perfectly with the amaretto for a delicious taste of fall. 

Disaronno liqueur, apple cider, half a lemon and an apple on a tray

Ingredients Needed

  • Apple Cider
  • Amaretto Liqueur 
  • Lemon Juice

Cocktail Garnishes

  • Apple Slices
  • Fresh Thyme

Directions

  • Add ice to a cocktail shaker. Fill with apple cider, amaretto and lemon juice.
  • Shake vigorously.
  • Fill glasses with crushed ice.

  • Strain cocktail into glasses.

  • Garnish with a thin slice of apple and a sprig of thyme if desired.

  • Large Batch: Multiply recipe by 4, stir all ingredients in a pitcher.

Ingredients

  • ice
  • 16 ounces apple cider
  • 6 ounces Amaretto Liqueur
  • 1 ounce fresh lemon juice
  • apple slices for garnish, optional
  • fresh thyme, optional garnish

Instructions

  1. Add ice to a cocktail shaker. Fill with apple cider, amaretto and lemon juice.
  2. Shake vigorously.
  3. Fill glasses with crushed ice.
  4. Strain cocktail into glasses.
  5. Garnish with a thin slice of apple and a sprig of thyme if desired.

  1. I think this has become my absolute favorite seasonal drink! I’ve always loved amaretto but pairing it with apple cider is beyond delicious!
