Turkey Pinwheels

Turkey pinwheels can be made with deli smoked turkey or it’s a great way to enjoy leftover smoked turkey breast from the holidays or weekend cookouts.

Ingredients Needed

  • Cream Cheese ~ Softened.
  • Pesto
  • Kosher Salt
  • Flour Tortillas ~ Burrito size.
  • Sun-Dried Tomatoes
  • Mozzarella Cheese ~ Shredded.
  • Smoked Turkey ~ Sliced thin.

Step By Step Directions

In a bowl, combine cream cheese, pesto and kosher salt using an electric mixer or wooden spoon until well combined.

Dice the sun-dried tomatoes.

Spread pesto onto flour tortillas. Top with sun dried tomatoes and shredded mozzarella.

Add a layer of turkey.

Roll up the tortillas. Repeat with remaining ingredients.

Wrap each roll in plastic wrap and refrigerate 2 hours or overnight.

Remove the plastic wrap and slice into pinwheels.

Serve chilled or at room temperature.

Storage: Store pinwheels wrapped in plastic wrap in the refrigerator up to 4 days.

Variations: Thin sliced chicken is also a great option in place of turkey. Use any flavor of wraps that you like, spinach wraps are tasty. Use light cream cheese if preferred.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • 1/2 cup pesto
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 2 ounces sun dried tomatoes diced
  • 5 burrito size flour tortillas
  • 1 1/4 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 12 ounces thin sliced smoked turkey

Instructions

  • Mix softened cream cheese with pesto and salt using an electric mixer or wooden spoon.
  • Spread onto flour tortillas. Top with sun-dried tomatoes and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese. Add turkey and roll up.
  • Wrap tortillas in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 2 hours or over night. Do not skip the chilling step or the filling will fall out when sliced.
  • After chilling, remove the plastic wrap and slice into desired thickness with a sharp knife on a cutting board. We did about 3/8 inch slices.
  • Place on a serving platter and serve chilled or at room temperature.
