The Rum Sunset Cocktail is a simple 3-ingredient drink perfect for any celebration!
I’m always thinking life is going to slow down, calm down and be less stressful. It hasn’t happened yet but I’m still looking for it to happen. If you can relate, let me introduce you to my new favorite cocktail… the Rum Sunset.
My birthday was last weekend and I was showered with huge bouquets of flowers, champagne and these fabulous cocktails. My husband grilled up some wonderful T-bone steaks and we made homemade potato chips. My Mother in Law made a batch of Lemon Bars and all in all it was a fabulous day.
I was ordered to relax and my husband found this cocktail on over on the Delish blog. As soon as I had a sip, I was grabbing my camera so I could share them here! See I’m not very good at taking a day off. Taking pictures of food and drinks is pretty fun though, not like work at all.
This recipe is super simple with orange juice, rum and grenadine. Garnish it with a slice of lime and it is really amazing. The original recipe calls for light rum and we had spiced rum. I thought it was perfect, use what ever you have on hand.
This Rum Sunset would be great for a party, you can mix up a double or triple batch to share with friends. Big batch cocktails like my Pineapple Margarita and Strawberry Wine Punch are the answer for parties. Mix it all up in a pitcher and your guests can serve themselves and you can enjoy the party!
My week was finished off with a little grocery shopping where the clerk insisted I show my ID to buy beer. I told her my birthday was this week and assured her I was more than old enough. She insisted I dig it out. Oh well, it made my day, I mean I have a kid old enough to buy beer!
So here’s to life never becoming dull or boring and lots more celebrations to come! Cheers Y’all!
