Mai Tai  ~ Tiki Cocktails

The Mai Tail Cocktail has been around since the 1940’s and originates from Trader Vic’s. Our version goes a little heavier on the pineapple juice plus three kinds of rum and uses Amaretto in place of orgeat syrup since it’s a little easier to come by.

Ingredients Needed:

Ingredients for Mai Tai Cocktails

  • Pineapple Juice
  • Lime Juice
  • Light Rum
  • Gold Rum
  • Dark Rum
  • Triple Sec
  • Amaretto Liqueur
  • Ice
  • Pineapple Chunks
  • Maraschino Cherries

How to Make Mai Tai Cocktails:

  • Fill a cocktail shaker with about 4- 5 ice cubes.
  • Add pineapple juice, lime juice, light rum, gold rum, triple sec and amaretto.
  • Add the top of the shaker and shake vigorously.
  • Strain into glasses filled with ice.
  • Slowly pour dark rum into the top of each cocktail.
  • Garnish with pineapple and maraschino cherries if desired.
