Easy Spanish Rice

Easy Spanish Rice is a quick side dish to serve with your favorite tacos, enchiladas or for any Mexican inspired dinner. With just a few ingredients, this easy rice dish can be on the table in about 25 minutes.

Easy Spanish Rice ~ For Mexican Inspired Meals

If you love the Spanish rice like they serve at Mexican restaurants, this easy recipe is sure to please. It’s so simple to make and has great flavor to compliment any Tex-Mex dinner.

If you are looking for a copycat from Chipotle restaurant, you’ll love this Cilantro Lime Rice for Mexican night.

Ingredients Needed:

  • Long Grain White Rice or Jasmine Rice
  • Water
  • Picante Sauce ~ or Salsa
  • Granulated Garlic
  • Onion Powder
  • Ground Cumin
  • Kosher Salt
  • Lime Juice

How to Make Spanish Rice:

  • Add rice to a pan with water, picante sauce, garlic, onion, cumin, salt and pepper. Stir to combine.

  • Cook over high heat until water comes to a boil.
  • Cover and lower to simmer, cook for 15 minutes.

  • Remove from heat.
  • Add lime juice and fluff with a fork before serving.

  • Yield: 4 Servings
  • How to Make Fluffy Rice: Using a quality long grain white rice, like Ben’s Original (Uncle Ben’s) will yield consistent results. Use 1 part rice to 2 parts water. So for every cup of rice, use 2 cups of water.
  • Add-Ins: Onions, bell peppers, jalapeños, black beans, pinto beans, cilantro.
  • Storage: Store rice in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 days.
  • Reheat: Place rice in a pan with a tablespoon of water and cook over medium heat, stirring often until heated through.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup long grain white rice
  • 2 cups water
  • 1/2 cup picante sauce or salsa
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
