We make a batch of Alabama Fire Crackers almost every week, they are so spicy and downright addictive. I decided to switch it up this week with Cheez-It snack crackers, pretzels and mixed nuts. I am skipping the super spicy red pepper flakes and keeping this version on the mild side.
Ingredients For Cheez-It Snack Mix
- Cheez-It Crackers – we are using the cheddar version, white cheddar or your favorite variety will work.
- Pretzels – Pretzel twists, pretzel sticks or nuggets will work.
- Mixed Nuts – Roasted, salted mixed nuts or unsalted.
- Avocado Oil – Substitute vegetable oil if preferred.
- Ranch Dressing Mix – The dry powder seasoning.
- Dried Onion Flakes – Adds delicious flavor to the snack mix.
- Granulated Garlic – For the bold garlic flavor.
- Black Pepper – Adds a little spice to the seasoning mix.
- Cayenne Pepper – Adds an extra spicy kick without making the snack mix too spicy.
Step-By-Step Directions for Party Snack Mix
- Add Cheez-Its, pretzels and nuts to a large mixing bowl.
- In another bowl, combine oil, ranch dressing mix, onion flakes, garlic, black pepper and cayenne pepper.
- Pour the dressing mix over the cracker mixture and toss until evenly coated. If your bowl is not quite big enough, pour onto sheet pans and toss until well coated.
- Spread onto 2 rimmed sheet pans.
- Bake each pan for 15 minutes.
- Remove from oven and cool on the pan.
- Store cooled snack mix in an airtight container at room temperature up to 2 weeks.
Recipe Notes and Variations
