This easy appetizer dip has been all over social media and one of my daughter in laws brought it to our family Christmas. I absolutely loved it and I will be making it for every get together! I love Boursin Cheese but it’s not available at my local grocery store, so I made my own version that is even better.

Ingredients Needed for Boursin Fig Dip

  • Finely grated Parmesan cheese
  • Granulated garlic
  • Dried dill
  • Dried thyme
  • Granulated Onion
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Fig jam or fig preserves – If you don’t like figs, try bacon jam or orange marmalade
  • Pistachios – substitute almonds, pecans or walnuts if that is what you have

How to Make Boursin Fig Dip

  1. Make the homemade Boursin: Add cream cheese, butter, grated Parmesan cheese, granulated garlic, dried dill, dried thyme, onion powder, salt and pepper to a shallow dish like a pie plate. Mash together with a fork until well combined.

  1. Assemble the dip: Spread evenly across the dish.
  2. Add the toppings: Spoon fig jam over the cheese mixture and spread gently. Sprinkle chopped pistachios evenly over the top.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces cream cheese softened
  • ½ cup butter softened
  • cup parmesan cheese finely grated
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon dried dill
  • 2 teaspoons dried thyme
  • 2 teaspoons granulated onion
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • ½ teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • ½ cup fig jam or preserves
  • ¼ cup pistachios chopped
  • crackers for serving

Instructions

  • Add cream cheese, butter, grated Parmesan cheese, granulated garlic, dried dill, dried thyme, onion powder, salt and pepper to a shallow dish like a pie plate. Mash together with a fork until well combined.
  • Spread evenly across the dish.
  • Dollop the fig jam over the top, spreading in an even layer.
  • Top with chopped pistachios.
  • Serve immediately with crackers or toasted bread slices.

Notes

Storage: Cover with plastic wrap or place in an airtight container and refrigerate for 2-3 days. 
Remove from refrigerator to come to room temperature before serving.
Use 2 packages of Boursin cheese in place of homemade garlic cheese spread if desired.
Top with hot honey for a sweet and spicy kick.
