Step by Step Directions for Puff Pastry Cheese Twists

  1. Add eggs, dijon, granulated garlic and black pepper to a small bowl.
  2. Beat well with a fork or whisk.

Puff Pastry Cheese Twists

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet frozen puff pastry thawed according to package directions
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 ½ cups sharp cheddar cheese grated
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese grated

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400° and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a small bowl, add eggs, dijon mustard, garlic and pepper.
  • Beat together with a fork until eggs are beaten and mixture is well combined.
  • Unfold puff pastry onto a clean surface, pressing the seams flat.
  • Brush with egg mixture.
  • Mix cheeses together and sprinkle 1 cup over the egg mixture. Press lightly into egg mixture.
  • Fold in half.
  • Cut into 1 inch strips.
  • Twist each strip and place onto the lined baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
  • Brush with egg mixture and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
  • Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

Serve at hot or at room temperature.
Double the Recipe: Use 2 sheets of puff pastry and double the amount of cheese. There will be enough eggs left to do an additional sheet of puff pastry.
Cheese: Try different cheeses like gruyere, mozzarella or pepper jack.
Storage: Store cooled puff pastry twists in an airtight container at room temperature 1-2 days.
