- 1 sheet frozen puff pastry thawed according to package directions
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon dijon mustard
- 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 ½ cups sharp cheddar cheese grated
- ½ cup parmesan cheese grated
Preheat oven to 400° and line a rimmed baking sheet with parchment paper.
In a small bowl, add eggs, dijon mustard, garlic and pepper.
Beat together with a fork until eggs are beaten and mixture is well combined.
Unfold puff pastry onto a clean surface, pressing the seams flat.
Brush with egg mixture.
Mix cheeses together and sprinkle 1 cup over the egg mixture. Press lightly into egg mixture.
Fold in half.
Cut into 1 inch strips.
Twist each strip and place onto the lined baking sheet about 1 inch apart.
Brush with egg mixture and sprinkle with remaining cheese.
Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
Cool slightly before serving.
Serve at hot or at room temperature.
Double the Recipe: Use 2 sheets of puff pastry and double the amount of cheese. There will be enough eggs left to do an additional sheet of puff pastry.
Cheese: Try different cheeses like gruyere, mozzarella or pepper jack.
Storage: Store cooled puff pastry twists in an airtight container at room temperature 1-2 days.
