BBQ Chicken Taquitos
BBQ Chicken Taquitos are filled with shredded bbq chicken and cheese and baked until crispy and delicious. Make this a quick meal using leftover or rotisserie chicken.
One of our best meal planning tips is to cook a couple of whole chickens over the weekend and shred them up for easy weeknight dinners. We love to brine and smoke whole chickens for this but a couple of rotisserie chickens work great too for easy dinners like taquitos.
Ingredients Needed
- Shredded Chicken – Any cooked chicken will work for this recipe.

- Cheddar Cheese – Any shredded cheese will work, pepper-jack is also a great option.
- Flour Tortillas – The fajita size tortillas work best for this or use corn tortillas.
- Olive Oil – A light coating of oil will make the taquitos get brown and crispy in the oven.
- Dipping Sauce: We made BBQ Ranch with our Sweet & Tangy BBQ Sauce and Ranch Dressing.
Step-By-Step Directions for BBQ Chicken Taquitos Recipe
- Add shredded chicken to a bowl with bbq sauce and mix well.
- Top each tortilla with shredded cheese and bbq chicken.
- Roll the taquitos up and place seam side down on a rimmed baking sheet.
- Brush with olive oil.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned on the edges and cheese is melted.
- Mix the bbq ranch dipping sauce together in a small bowl.
- Serve taquitos with bbq ranch or your favorite sauce.

Ingredients
- 2 cups chicken cooked, shredded
- 3/4 cup Out Grilling Sweet and Spicy BBQ Sauce
- 1 1/2 cups cheddar cheese shredded
- 8 flour tortillas fajita size
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
For BBQ Ranch Dipping Sauce
- 1/4 cup Out Grilling Sweet and Spicy BBQ Sauce
- 1/4 cup ranch dressing
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°.
- Place chicken in a bowl with bbq sauce and mix until well combined.
- Place shredded cheese down the center of each tortilla and top with bbq chicken.
- Roll the tortillas up and place seam side down on a rimmed baking sheet.
- Brush the tortillas with olive oil.
- Bake for 15 minutes or until lightly browned and cheese is melted.
- Mix bbq sauce and ranch dressing together in a bowl for dipping.
- Remove taquitos from oven and serve with bbq ranch.
