  • All Purpose Flour – for rolling the dough.
  • Fresh Strawberries – sliced
  • Heavy Whipping Cream
  • Mascarpone or Cream Cheese
  • Vanilla Extract
  • Powdered Sugar

Step-By-Step Directions for Napoleon Pastry

  1. Remove one sheet puff pastry from packaging and place on a lightly floured surface. Cut with a pizza wheel or sharp knife into 6 rectangles. Place on a parchment lined baking sheet.
  2. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until golden brown.
  3. Cool on the pan and repeat with the other sheet of puff pastry.

  1. Meanwhile, make the pastry cream. Add heavy whipping cream to a large bowl and beat at medium speed with an electric mixer until it starts to thicken, raise to high speed, beating until stiff peaks form.
  2. Add mascarpone cheese or cream cheese, vanilla extract and powdered sugar to the bowl.
  3. Beat at medium speed until well combined. Cover and refrigerate until ready to assemble the pastries.

  1. Wash and dry the strawberries. Remove the tops and slice. Place in a bowl and cover until ready to serve. You can add 1/3 cup of sugar to the sliced strawberries if you feel the strawberries are not sweet enough.

  1. When puff pastry has cooled, cut each pastry in half with a serrated knife.
  2. Spoon pastry cream onto the bottom half of each pastry and top with sliced strawberries.
  3. Place the tops of the puff pastry over the strawberries.
  4. Sprinkle powdered sugar over the tops with a mesh strainer if desired.
