Red, White and Blue Daiquiris

Hosting summer cookouts and holiday celebrations is my favorite thing! Especially since we put in the pool and outdoor kitchen. It’s the most fun to have the whole clan over to celebrate and these Red, White and Blue Daiquiris are the perfect addition to the party.

How to Make Red, White and Blue Daiquiris:

  1. Add rum, simple syrup, lime juice and ice to a blender and blend until smooth. 
  2. Pour half of mixture into another container and place in the freezer.
  3. Add strawberries to blender and blend until smooth.
  4. Pour strawberry daiquiri mix into glasses and top with lime daiquiri mixture, add fresh or frozen blueberries and serve immediately.

How to Freeze Daiquiris:

Daiquiris can be poured into mason jars with lids and frozen until ready to serve. Daiquiris will keep up to 3 months. Top with berries before serving.

Having daiquiris in the freezer ready to go is perfect for impromptu get togethers or just handy for front porch sipping on the weekends.

You can also mix up a large batch of daiquiris and keep them in a zip top freezer bag but the individual servings in mason jars is a brilliant idea that I got from my friend Amber of Bluebonnets and Brownies

How to Make Simple Syrup for Cocktails:

Mix 1 part sugar and 1 part boiling water until sugar dissolves. Chill until ready to use. Simple syrup will keep in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.

What better way to cool off this summer than with a frozen daiquiri? My Easy Strawberry Daiquiris are crazy popular.  I knew if I layered the strawberry daiquiri with the classic lime Daiquiri for Red, White and Blue Daiquiri, they would be a big hit for summer.

Ingredients

  • 4 ounces light rum
  • 4 ounces simple syrup
  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice
  • 4 cups ice
  • 2 cups sliced strawberries, fresh or frozen
  • 1/4 cup fresh blueberries

Instructions

  1. Pour rum, simple syrup, lime juice and ice to a blender and blend until smooth. 
  2. Pour half of mixture into another container and place in the freezer.
  3. Add sliced strawberries to the blender with lime mixture and blend until smooth.
  4. Pour strawberry daiquiri mix into glasses and top with lime daiquiri mixture from the freezer.
  5. Top with fresh or frozen blueberries and serve immediately.
