Mustard BBQ Sauce

Back in the day when I owned my own sauce business, I had a couple of mustard sauces. One was a sweet mustard sauce and the other was a rosemary mustard that was more savory. This sauce is a bit of a combo of the two.

Mustard BBQ Sauce

I have been craving those sauces lately and with grilling season right around the corner, I knew it was time we come up with a mustard bbq sauce for summer grilling!

My husband is great at putting amazing flavors together and this is his creation. It’s definitely going to be staple on our summer grilling menus!

How to Make Mustard BBQ Sauce:

  1. Combine prepared yellow mustard, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, dried rosemary, onion flakes, garlic powder, black pepper and salt together in a small saucepan.
  2. Cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes, stirring often, until sugar is melted and mixture is smooth. Set aside to cool completely.
  3. Pour into an air tight container and store in refrigerator until ready to use.

Mustard BBQ Sauce has a nice vinegar kick that pairs well with chicken or pork. Use it as a grilling or dipping sauce and it’s so good as a topping for hot dogs and burgers. A great sauce to have on hand!

Our Mustard BBQ Sauce is sweet and sticky, just what I love for grilling. The sugar caramelizes on the meat and the flavors are just out of this world.

If you like a spicy kick, give this Jalapeno Honey Mustard a try for dipping or great for sandwiches.

Rosemary is one of my favorite herbs, I have two huge rosemary bushes in our garden. If you aren’t a fan of rosemary, you can skip it or switch out basil or oregano in this recipe.

How long will Mustard BBQ Sauce keep?

Place in an air tight container and keep refrigerated for up to 3 months.

More Barbecue Sauce Recipes to Try:

Our Dr Pepper Barbecue Sauce is one of our most popular recipes and it’s my go to quick and easy sauce. Homemade Barbecue Sauce is a thick and rich sauce that is a must try for summer grilling.

For something really different, give our  White Barbecue Sauce a try. It is a no cook sauce. It’s a mayo based sauce with tons of garlic and horseradish.
