Raisin Bran Cinnamon Rolls

There’s just something special about breakfast when it includes homemade cinnamon rolls and it’s one of my favorites to bake and share. This batch makes 2 pans and they are knock your socks off delicious!

We have a Seinfeld level of love for cereal and Raisin Bran is one of our favorites. So much so that we always pick it up at Sam’s Club with 2 bags! We are just as likely to eat a bowl of Raisin Bran for lunch or a late snack as we are to have it for breakfast. 

Fresh Baked Raisin Bran Cinnamon Rolls with Powdered Sugar Icing

I got to thinking that Raisin Bran would be a great addition to my favorite cinnamon rolls. You’ve got to try it, they were a big hit with my family and would be so good for the weekend or Christmas morning!

Raisin Bran Cereal for Cinnamon Rolls

The crushed Raisin Bran flakes add just a little texture to the dough and the raisins add a wonderful sweet bite to them. I finished them off with a super simple powdered sugar icing that can be made in a snap while the rolls are baking. 

How to Make Raisin Bran Cinnamon Rolls

 

How to Make Raisin Bran Cinnamon Rolls:

  • Add Raisin Bran to a zip top bag and crush with a rolling pin. Set aside.

Yeast starting to bubble for Raisin Bran Cinnamon Rolls

  • Add warm water, sugar. yeast and oil to a large bowl and mix together. 
  • When yeast starts to bubble, about 5 minutes, add 2 cups of flour, salt and crushed Raisin Bran. 

Dough for Raisin Bran Cinnamon Rolls

  • Stir together, add 1-2 more cups of flour mixing until dough comes together into a ball. 
  • Pour onto a floured surface and knead 3-5 minutes. 
  • Cover and allow to rise 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  • Punch down dough and roll to about 1/4 inch thick. 
  • Spread with softened butter. 
  • Sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. 
  • Roll tightly from the long side and pinch seam to seal. 
  • Cut into 1 inch slices.

  • Place in a greased baking dish or pie plate about 1 inch apart. 
  • Cover and allow to rise 30 minutes to 1 hour.

  • Bake for 22-25 minutes or until cooked through.

Powdered Sugar Icing for Raisin Bran Cinnamon Rolls

  • Mix powdered sugar and milk together until smooth.

Raisin Bran Cinnamon Rolls with Powdered Sugar Icing

  • Drizzle over rolls. 
  • Serve warm or at room temperature.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Kellogg's Raisin Bran
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water about 100 degrees
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 package yeast 2 1/4 teaspoons
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 - 4 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 cup softened butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
