How to Make Easy Green Bean Casserole:

Fresh green beans in an orange bowl, whole button mushrooms and half of an onion

  • Wash and trim one pound of fresh green beans. If the beans are large, you can cut them in half or leave them whole.
  • Bring about 4-5 cups of water to a boil in a large pan. Add green beans and cook for 8-10 minutes or until tender. You can also steam the green beans if desired. Drain from water and place in an 9 x 9 baking dish.
  • Meanwhile, cook diced mushrooms, onions and fresh garlic in butter until vegetables are softened and onions start to brown, about 10 minutes.
