Brass Monkey! Sing it with me... "That Funky Monkey!" The Beastie Boys made this easy cocktail famous in the 80's and with just 3 ingredients, there's no reason you can't make it your weekend drink!
I totally listened to Licensed to Ill on repeat on my Walkman in junior high and still crank up the radio anytime I hear Brass Monkey. I am just now realizing that I'm also a big fan of the cocktail.
Easy vodka cocktails are my favorite and this one is simple enough for guests to mix up by the glass. It's definitely going to be one of my go- to cocktails for summer
How to Make a Brass Monkey Drink:
- Fill a glass ¾ full with crushed ice.
- Add orange juice, vodka and rum. I like Black Spiced Rum but light rum is great also. Use whichever you prefer.
- Give it a stir and garnish with a slice of orange and a sprig of mint.
The Brass Monkey has two variations, one is orange juice mixed with malt liquor served in the bottle and the Screwdriver mixed with rum. The premixed version is a thing of the past but it's seriously easy to mix up your own version right at home.
If you have a home bar, you are likely to have all of these ingredients already and if you haven't tried one yet, add it to your weekend plans.
