From September 29 – November 24 you can head on over to #ChiquitaCookingLab and enter your recipe using the key ingredients from that week. One winner will be chosen each week to win $4,000! Plus the winner’s recipes will be turned into a stop motion video and promoted on Chiquita’s digital and social channels.
Four random winners will also be chosen weekly to receive a Chiquita gift bag. Sounds like fun doesn’t it?

Like every other week at my house, this one has been crazy-busy! My little guy is famished by the time school is out and I don’t usually have dinner on the table until much later in the evening. So I try really hard to have some healthy snacking options for him. His new favorite is a Banana Watermelon Smoothie!
I’m entering this Banana Watermelon Smoothie over at the Chiquita Cooking Lab. It is a fun and healthy drink that is perfect for busy mornings or as an after school snack. With just a few ingredients and a whirl in the blender, it is ready in less than 5 minutes. Now that is my kind of healthy snack!
I hadn’t paired watermelon and banana together before, but as it turns out it is a great combination and we will just have to see if it’s a winning combination! According to my little guy, he thought it ranked up there with best thing ever!
Just chop about a cup of watermelon, slice one banana, a drizzle of honey and a little vanilla yogurt and add it to the blender. After it is smooth, you can add a cup of ice and blend again or just serve it over ice. We liked it best with the ice blended. Pretty easy!
- 1 banana, peeled and sliced
- 1 cup watermelon cubes
- 1/3 cup vanilla yogurt
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 - 1 1/2 cups ice
- whipped cream for garnish if desired
Add banana, watermelon, yogurt and honey to a blender and blend until smooth. Add ice and blend until smooth (or serve over ice). Top with whipped cream if desired and serve immediately.
*Recipe can be doubled as needed.
