Honey Berry Slushies
We are officially kicking off summer break! Wahoo! No more hectic mornings for a while. The weather is also planning to kick off summer with temperatures in the 90's this week!
We plan to stay cool with these Honey Berry Slushies! You won't believe how easy they are to make!
Just three simple ingredients are all you need for this cool and refreshing summer treat. I started with R.W. Knudsen Family Just Blueberry Juice and added frozen strawberries and a touch of honey.
I threw it all into my food processor but a blender works great too. My kids have never been big on eating breakfast first thing in the morning, so I will often make a breakfast smoothie to get him going. These Honey Berry Slushies were a nice change.
This recipe makes several and you can enjoy them now or pop it in the freezer in baggies or ice cube trays for slushies on demand. You could also make awesome frozen fruit pops with it.
It gets so stinking hot here in Oklahoma and I'm always dreaming up new ways to cool down. I love that these slushies are naturally sweetened and you could totally sub in agave for the honey if you prefer it.
I am really hoping that I can squeeze in some fun with Emmet this summer. There's a Diamond Mine over in Arkansas that isn't too far from our place. We keep saying that we are going to give it a try.
My husband and kids are all pretty lucky at finding things. Me not so much. I think I just don't pay close enough attention. My kids have found arrow heads, a buffalo skull and all sorts of stuff. Wouldn't it be something to find a big diamond?
Of course we will squeeze in plenty of fishing and swimming and probably a few visits to see my folks. It should be a great summer, I just have to make myself take some time off. I've not been doing so well in that department lately.
We really enjoyed the bright flavors of Just Blueberry® juice. It is definitely going to be a pantry staple. R.W. Knudsen Family Single Fruit Juices are 100% juice, unsweetened and undiluted for the best fruit taste. They are Non-GMO Project Verified and available in handy 32 oz. glass bottles.
I found them easily in the juice section of the grocery store. I can't wait to try all of available varieties: Just Black Cherry™, Just Blueberry™, Just Cranberry™, Just Pomegranate™, Organic Just Concord Grape™, and Organic Just Tart Cherry™.
Looking for more recipe ideas? Try pairing fresh blueberries and Just Blueberry® juice with soft tofu (yes, tofu!) for extra flavor in your daily smoothie. We also love a Banana Watermelon Smoothie for a healthy treat.
I know we will be enjoying lots of these Honey Berry Slushies this summer and I hope you will try them too!
