Air Fryer Churro Apple Pie Bombs are a sweet treat that can be made in about 20 minutes with only 5 ingredients. Serve this quick and easy treat for a quick weekend breakfast or top with vanilla ice cream for a decadent dessert.
Pie is probably the most requested dessert at our house but it's the one I make the least often. I just hate fooling with pie crust when cookies and cakes are faster and easier. Well that is until I made these apple pie bombs! It is seriously simple and the crust is made with canned biscuit dough.

Ingredients for Churro Apple Pie Bombs:
- Canned Biscuits
- Apple Pie Filling
- Butter
- Sugar
- Cinnamon
How to Make Air Fryer Churro Apple Pie Bombs:
- Open pie filling and pour into a bowl. Using a fork and a knife, cut the apple slices into small pieces. One can of pie filling will fill 2 cans of canned biscuits. I used half and saved the rest to make these again soon. Just store leftover pie filling in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Do not store in the can it came in.
- Preheat air fryer for 5 minutes.
- Separate biscuits and pull each into two layers.
- Use a rolling pin to make biscuits into about a 3- 4 inch circle.
- Spoon pie filling onto each biscuit, don't over fill.
- Fold edges of the biscuit together and pinch to seal. Try not to get the pie filling on the edges of the biscuits, because it doesn't want to stick together if you do.
- Roll biscuits into balls.
- Place filled biscuits into the air fryer basket about 2 inches apart. My basket held 8 at a time. You don't want the biscuits to touch so they cook evenly.
- Cook for 8 minutes or until golden brown. You can check to make sure the dough is cooked through by carefully pulling apart one from the bottom.
- Melt butter and in a separate bowl, combine sugar and cinnamon.
- One at a time, roll apple pie bomb in butter, letting the excess drip off.
- Next, roll in cinnamon sugar, coating all sides.
- Place on a wire rack and repeat steps with remaining ingredients.
- Serve immediately or at room temperature.
Best if consumed within a few hours.
Conventional Oven Instructions:
If you have a convection oven use the same directions as the air fryer, preheating oven before baking.
For a conventional oven: preheat to 375° and increase baking time to 15- 17 minutes, or until cooked through.
How to Store and Reheat:
If you have leftovers, which is really unlikely, store in refrigerator covered up to 2 days.
Reheat at 300° in the air fryer for about 2 minutes.

Mecca
These were amazing and so easy to make! My kids and I don't usually eat apple desserts but from now on we will! I had to promise I'd make these at least once a week for them. 🙂
Milisa
Hi Mecca,
So glad y'all enjoyed them!
~ Milisa
Monica
Hi! Can I make these in an actual oil fryer? Thank you!
Milisa
Hi Monica,
You can but honestly it would be better in the oven. I think they might want to come apart in the oil and the filling leak out. Let me know if you try it.
~ Milisa
Stephanie
I wonder if they would be good with a small piece of cream cheese in them.
Milisa
Hi Stephanie,
I haven't tried it but I'm sure it would be delicious! Let me know how it turns out if you try it 🙂
~ Milisa
Adrian
Hello,
I'm curious can you make these in a regular fryer?
Thanks,
Adrian
Adrian
Hello,
Reference the Apple pie bombs?
Mel
Can I make these ahead of time, but cook on the day of?
Milisa
Hi Mel,
I don't recommend making them ahead. The biscuit dough will not keep well.

Jennifer Porter
Are these baked using the air fryer setting or a bake setting on your Air Fryer? Mine has multiple settings.
Jenn
Milisa
Hi Jennifer,
My air fryer doesn't have an option. I would say it would be fine on either setting.
~ Milisa
Marie
Don’t have canned biscuits but have canned cinnamon rolls, going try with those.
Milisa
Hi Marie,
That should be amazing!
~ Milisa
Amy
What temperature should the air fryer be on and does it matter if it’s pre heated or not? Thank you!
Milisa
Hi Amy,
I preheat at 350° for 5 minutes and bake at 350°. You can find all of the instructions in the printable recipe card. I hope that helps.
~ Milisa
Barbara
Thank you for asking your question and to Milisa for repying as that was also my question, whether she cooked them at the same temperature as pre-heating.
Anna

Sydnye
So easy and so yummy!
Sue
I bet these apple pie bombs would be good with other kinds of pie filling also – maybe cherry?
alexis
these are so good, once cooked can you freeze them before rolling in butter and cinnamon/sugar?
Margaret
Hi,
I live in Glasgow, haven't seen canned biscuits on supermarket shelves, any help in replicating the recipe for biscuits from scratch, would be lovely. Thanks
Milisa
Hi Margaret,
Canned biscuits are really not at all like homemade biscuits. I did a little research and I think if you have Jus-Rol dough available, that might be close to our canned biscuits. Pie pastry or puff pastry would also work. I hope this helps.
~ Milisa
Julie Maloney
My biggest regret is eating them all at one sitting. Fantastic!
Milisa
Ha ha! That's my problem too!
