Chocolate Chip Walnut Bars ~ Simple & Sweet Dessert Great For All Occasions

These bars are moist and almost cake like and super delicious. A really quick and simple dessert perfect for anytime. These would make an excellent thank you gift and great to pack in lunch boxes or carry to potlucks. 

Ingredients Needed:

  • all purpose flour 
  • baking powder 
  • brown sugar 
  • egg 
  • vanilla 
  • butter, softened 
  • semi-sweet chocolate chips 
  • walnuts, coarsely chopped 

How To Make:

Pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. 

In a large mixing bowl, add butter and brown sugar and beat with an electric mixer until fluffy. 

Add egg and vanilla and beat until well combined. 

Add flour and baking powder and mix well. 

Stir in chocolate chips and walnuts. 

Pour into a greased 8″ x 8″ baking pan and spread evenly. 

Bake for 20-25 minutes until lightly browned and a knife inserted comes out clean. 

Cool and cut into squares.
