  1. So glad I found your recipe. I made these cookies about 45 years ago and have the recipe but no instructions. I cooked at a Nursing Home so we made 15 cups of flour worth. The original I have was from an older lady from the county. Wonderful cookie. I made 3 kinds from the dough. I also put almond flavoring in mine 🎄🙏

    1. Hi Barbara,
It’s my favorite sugar cookie ever. I just made a batch and brought to my grandma since it’s the recipe she has always made. Amazing to bake that many cookies for a nursing home! I like to make lots of variations from this dough also. I am glad you found it and hope you have a wonderful holiday! Thanks for stopping by.

Quick, easy, and tastes great. I used coconut oil and coconut sugar for a tropical flavor. I’ll definitely be returning g to this recipe!

  3. Yummy! Absolutely delicious! I had been looking to recreate a recipe at a restaurant that uses strawberry icing and these were so perfect! These were amazing with no icing as well. I added a icing with strawberry purée and powdered sugar and a little water! I baked half the batch and froze cookie dough balls for the rest to cook another time. I did press with a glass and they look very pretty!

  4. I have tried so many sugar cookies over the years but none came close to being as good as these. The extra bonus is how long they stay fresh.

Made these cookies Today. My husband likes them but I found them to be a little dry and bland. I loved how easy they were to make and the texture of the dough was so soft and perfect. I will try them again with more vanilla or almond. Thank you for sharing.

  6. I’m looking for a sugar cookie recipe for a baby shower. The theme is dinosaur and I’d like to imprint the cookie with a toy dinosaur foot. Would this recipe possibly work? (Instead of smashing it flat with a glass?)

    1. Hi Betsy,
I think it might work best if you put the impression into the baked cookies, right when they come out of the oven. Let me know if you have more questions.
