Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Which restaurant is known for their delicious cheddar garlic biscuits? Red Lobster!  For years I tried to duplicate their biscuits and then I found a recipe in the Food Network Magazine that I adapted slightly. These biscuits taste like the real deal, y’all!

I use Cabot Extra Sharp Cheddar Cheese in these biscuits. It’s white so my biscuits are missing the little orange flecks but I’m telling you the flavor and flakiness is all there!

Once you try this cheese, there’s no going back to ordinary cheddar cheese, I’m so hooked on it. It’s my favorite for making Bacon White Cheddar Pasta

How to Make Red Lobster Cheddar Bay Biscuits:

  • Add the flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt in a large bowl and stir to combine.
  • Cut in shortening and butter with a fork or pastry knife until mixture is crumbly and butter is about pea size.

Shredded cheese in biscuit dough

  • Mix in shredded cheddar cheese.

Biscuit Dough in a bowl

  • Stir in milk, mixing until mixture comes together. Don’t over work the dough or your biscuits will be tough.

Drop biscuit dough on a parchment lined baking sheet

  • Drop the dough onto a greased or lined baking sheet in scant 1/4 cup portions, 2 inches apart.

Baked Biscuits on a baking sheet

  • Bake until golden browned about 15 to 17 minutes.
  • Melt the butter with smashed garlic in a small saucepan over medium heat; cook for 1 minute and stir in parsley.

Garlic Butter Biscuits

  • Brush the biscuits with the garlic butter and serve warm.
