Smoked Sausage Appetizer Bites are a great addition to any party menu or game day gathering. Savory smoked sausage slices wrapped in a golden brown pizza dough blanket, baked to perfection.
Remove casings and slice sausage into ½ inch thick slices.
Divide pizza dough into 1 ½ inch pieces, roll each into a ball.
Press your thumb down into each dough ball to create an indention.
Place a sausage slice into each dough round, pressing the sides around the sausage.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease.
Place sausage bites onto the parchment about 1 inch apart.
Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown on the bottom.
Melt butter in a small skillet with sliced garlic cloves. Cook over low heat about 5 minutes.
Brush garlic butter over the sausage bites.
Serve with honey mustard sauce.
Notes
Store leftover sausage bites in a zip top bag in the refrigerator up to 4 days.
Reheat smoked sausage bites in a toaster oven or oven at 350° for 8 - 10 minutes on a baking sheet. They are also great cold, right out of the refrigerator.
