I added the avocado and this is one of my go to meals for summer. They go together really quick and are so delicious. Great served with mac and cheese or tomato soup.

Ingredients
1poundbaconsliced in half, cooked and drained
18slicesbreadwhite or wheat your choice
¼cupbuttersoftened
6slicesamerican cheese
6slicesprovolone or swiss cheese
2avocadospeeled, cored and thinly sliced
2teaspoonslemon juice
2teaspoonssalt
1teaspoonfresh ground pepper
2teaspoonsgranulated garlic
1 ½cupsshredded lettuce
mayo
Instructions
Pre-heat a griddle or non-stick skillet.
Butter 12 slices of bread on one side.
Place 6 slices of bread, butter side down on griddle, top with one slice each of american and provolone cheese.
Top with other 6 buttered slices of bread (butter side out). Meanwhile, lightly toast 6 other slices in toaster.
Flip grilled cheese sandwiches when they are lightly browned and allow to cook on the other side.
Remove from griddle when lightly browned and cheese is melted.
Sprinkle avocado slices with lemon juice, salt, pepper and garlic.
Notes
Spread outside of grilled cheese on one side with mayo, layer cooked bacon slices, sliced avocado, lettuce and a slice of toast that has been spread with mayo. Cut in half diagonally and serve.
