    Honey Barbecue Sauce

This started out to be a barbecue chicken post, except the chicken was devoured in no time flat and I was left with nothing but a little barbecue sauce.  I would like to say to those that know me, this is A barbecue sauce recipe, NOT THE barbecue sauce recipe!  As in the Pine Ridge Barbecue Sauce that I created and is now being made by The Herbadashery.  Click on the link for more info on that.  Now that we have that settled, the Honey Barbecue Sauce is sweet, tangy and perrrfect for chicken, and I have to admit it was pretty good on the meatloaf as well; no pictures of that as well thanks to my two teenage boys.  Sometimes it's hard to get the picture before they dig in and devour everything in site.  Barbecue sauce is kind of its own food group around our house, we can't get enough.  This is an easy recipe to throw together at the last minute with ingredients found in your pantry.  You can store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator.  Mine didn't make it past the meatloaf!

    Honey Barbecue Sauce

    Ingredients:

    1 cup ketchup

    ½ cup honey

    ½ cup brown sugar

    1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

    1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

    1 teaspoon season salt

    ½ teaspoon black pepper

    ½ teaspoon granulated garlic

    Cooking Directions:

In a medium to large pot, add all ingredients and stir together over medium heat.  Stir frequently until brown sugar and honey have melted and sauce just starts to bubble.  Remove from heat to cool.  When cool place in airtight container and place in refrigerator until ready to use.  Yield about 2 cups.

    Enjoy!
