Oreo Sheet Cake

Ingredients

  • 13.25 ounce chocolate cake mix
  • 3.9 ounce package chocolate instant pudding mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/3 cup softened or melted butter
  • 1 cup whole milk

For the Icing

  • 8 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 3 tablespoons softened butter
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 14 Oreo Cookies

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350°. Grease a 13 x 18 rimmed sheet pan with non-stick cooking spray or butter.
  • Add chocolate cake mix, softened butter, pudding mix, eggs and milk to a large mixer bowl. Beat at low speed, using the paddle attachment, until combined, raise to medium-high and beat 2 minutes.
  • Pour batter into pan and spread evenly.
  • Bake for 15-17 minutes or until a tooth pick inserted comes out clean.
  • Remove from oven to a wire rack to cool.
  • Make the Icing: Place softened cream cheese and softened butter into a mixer bowl. Beat with the whisk attachment until fluffy. Add powdered sugar, milk and vanilla extract, beat at low speed until combined.
  • Coarsely chop Oreo cookies and fold into the icing.
  • Pour Oreo frosting over the completely cooled sheet cake.
  • Spread evenly.
  • Chill the sheet cake 1 hour or until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Storage: Store Oreo cake loosely covered with aluminum foil or plastic wrap in the refrigerator up to 4 days.
  • 9 x 13 Cake: Bake cake in a 9 x 13 inch cake pan for 28- 22 minutes, until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  • Cake Mix Variations: Use a white cake mix with vanilla instant pudding if desired.
