Heat chicken broth in a dutch oven or large pan over medium- high heat for about 10 minutes.
Stir in the chicken and chickpeas. Continue to cook another 10- 15 minutes.
Garnish with chives if desired and serve immediately.
Store leftover soup in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 days. Freeze up to 3 months. Reheat in a pan over medium heat, stirring often until heated through.

- Sautéed Vegetables: Carrots, celery, onions, bell peppers or mushrooms.
- Pasta: Broken fettuccine, macaroni, orzo or diatlini.
- Greens: Baby spinach, kale or chard.
