Easy Sugar Cookie Icing

Easy Sugar Cookie Icing is just what you need to make iced and decorated sugar cookies. This recipe is easy to work with and hardens in a few hours.

Ingredients

  • 6 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup light corn syrup
  • 4-6 tablespoons whole milk
  • 2 teaspoons orange extract

Instructions

  • Add powdered sugar, corn syrup, milk and orange extract to a mixer bowl.
  • Beat at low speed until combined. Raise to medium speed and beat until smooth, about 1- 2 minutes.
  • Add additional milk or powdered sugar if needed to reach desired consistency.
  • Divide and mix in food coloring if desired.
  • Spread or pipe onto baked cookies. Add sprinkles if desired.
  • Allow cookies to set up in a single layer until hardened.

Notes

Store leftover icing in an airtight container at room temperature up to 1 week or refrigerated up to 2 weeks. Mix in additional milk if the icing needs thinned.
Yield will depend on the shape and size of cookies that are being iced.
