Brown Sugar Shortbread

Ingredients

  • 1 cup salted butter softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 300°.
  • Cream the butter and sugar together in a mixer bowl.
  • Add the flour and mix just until combined.
  • Scrape dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead into a ball.
  • Use a rolling pin to roll out to about 1/3 inch thick rectangle.
  • Cut into circles with a cookie cutter or pizza cutter for strips.
  • Press the dough scraps back together and roll if using the cookie cutter.
  • Prick with a fork or wooden skewer.
  • Place 1 inch apart on a lined baking sheet.
  • Bake 20- 25 minutes or until golden brown.
  • Remove to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container up to 2 weeks.
