Brownies with Cream Cheese Icing

Easy no-fuss brownies slathered with cream cheese icing and sprinkled with mini chocolate chips.

Ingredients

for brownies:

  • ½ cup butter softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • ½ cup all purpose flour
  • ½ cup cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

for icing:

  • 4 oz cream cheese softened
  • 2 tablespoons butter softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 cups powdered sugar
  • ½ cup mini chocolate chips

Instructions

  • Pre-heat oven to 350 degrees.  
  • In a large mixing bowl beat butter and eggs, add vanilla and beat until well combined.  
  • Add flour, cocoa and baking powder, beat until all combined.  
  • Pour into a greased 8 inch square baking dish.  
  • Bake 17-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.  
  • Set aside to cool completely.
  • While brownies are baking in a large mixing bowl beat cream cheese and butter until fluffy, add vanilla and gradually beat in powdered sugar until icing is thick and smooth.  
  • Spread over cooled brownies and sprinkle with mini chocolate chips.  
  • Cut into squares and serve.
