- 29 ounces can sliced peaches in heavy syrup undrained
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 15 ounce box yellow cake mix
- 3/4 cup melted butter 1 1/2 sticks
- vanilla ice cream for serving optional
Preheat oven to 375°.
Pour sliced peaches with syrup into a 9 x 13 inch baking dish.
Spread peaches out evenly.
Sprinkle cake mix over the peaches in an even layer.
Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix.
Bake for about 30 minutes until filling is bubbly and cake is lightly browned.
Cool on a wire rack for about 10 minutes before serving.
Top with vanilla ice cream if desired.
To Use Fresh Peaches:
Use 6- 8 fresh peaches. Peel and toss with about 1/2 cup of sugar. Proceed with the same directions.
Peach pie filling will also work in this recipe.
Store leftover dump cake covered in plastic wrap in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
Reheat in microwave or serve at room temperature.
Dump cake is best consumed on the first day.
