Mustard BBQ Chicken Wings

Mustard BBQ Wings are a tasty appetizer to make on the grill with tons of flavor from hardwood smoke and tangy a rosemary mustard sauce. These wings are like nothing you've ever tasted and are sure to rank as a top favorite game day snack.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken wings
  • 1 cup Mustard BBQ Sauce - recipe below

Instructions

  • Prepare a 350° grill fire using pecan or hickory for wood smoke.
  • Drain chicken wings and pat dry with paper towels. 
  • Cook wings over indirect fire on the grill with the lid closed for about 20 minutes. Check with a digital thermometer and cook until internal temperature reaches about 160°.
  • Pour 1 cup of mustard bbq sauce into a large bowl. 
  • Remove chicken wings from grill into sauce and use tongs to toss wings to coat completely.
  • Return wings to the grill and close the lid. Continue to cook for about 10 minutes or until internal temperature reaches 165°.
  • Remove to a serving platter and serve hot or at room temperature.

Notes

Oven Method:

Place chicken wings on a lined baking sheet.  Bake at 400° for about 20-25 minutes brushing with BBQ sauce and baking for an additional five minutes. Make sure internal temperature is at 165°.

How to Store and Reheat:

Store leftover chicken wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
Cooked chicken wings can be frozen in a freezer bag or vacuum seal bag for up to 3 months. 
Reheat in 350° oven on a lined baking sheet for about 10 -12 minutes. 
To reheat from frozen, brush with additional sauce and heat covered with foil for about 30 minutes.
