Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh or frozen blueberries
  • 1 tablespoon lime or lemon juice
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 325°
  • In a mixing bowl combine blueberries with lime juice and set aside. 
  • Pour melted butter into a 9 x 13 baking dish.
  • In a separate mixing bowl combine flour and sugar.
  • Add milk, buttermilk, and vanilla and whisk together. 
  • Whisk in baking powder. 
  • Pour over butter. 
  • Pour blueberry mixture over batter. Do not stir. 
  • Bake for 40-50 minutes or until center is set and edges are golden brown. 
  • Serve with vanilla ice cream or sweetened whipped cream.
