Hi Susan,
 The best way is to cook it rare and then chill it before slicing. It also helps if you have a deli slicer but the smooth slices are much easier to achieve with a rare roast. Here&#039;s my favorite roast recipe (use and seasonings that you like) https://www.missinthekitchen.com/rump-roast/
