Blood Orange Margarita

Blood Orange Margaritas are an easy cocktails to mix by the glass or pitcher for a refreshing and delicious drink. Great for cocktail parties or serve them up alongside your favorite Mexican dishes.

Ingredients

  • Ice
  • 4 ounces tequila
  • 1 ounce triple sec
  • 4 ounces blood orange juice
  • 1 ounce lime juice
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 tablespoon flake salt
  • slices of blood orange or limes for garnish

Instructions

  • Add ice cubes to a cocktail shaker.
  • Slice blood oranges and limes in half.
  • Juice the blood oranges and limes. 
  • Use a cocktail jigger to measure and add tequila.
  • Add triple sec to the shaker.
  • Pour in blood orange juice.
  • Next, add the lime juice.
  • Cover and shake vigorously. 
  • Rub honey around the rim of the glasses.
  • Sprinkle flake salt onto a small plate. Dip the rim of the glass into the salt.
  • Fill glasses with crushed ice.
  • Strain blood orange margaritas over ice.
  • Garnish with sliced orange or limes if desired.

Notes

  • Pitcher: Multiply recipe by 4. Pour ingredients into a pitcher, stir well. Serve over crushed ice.
  • Make Ahead: Margaritas can be made up to a day in advance, store in refrigerator, mix well before serving. Freeze up to 3 months in a zip top freezer bag. Thaw in refrigerator or serve frozen.
