Boozy Shamrock Shakes

Boozy Shamrock Shakes are the ultimate dessert cocktail for St. Patrick's Day. Creamy vanilla milkshakes spiked with creme de menthe and vanilla vodka are refreshing and so delicious.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 2 ounces creme de menthe liqueur
  • 1 ounce whipping cream vodka
  • sweetened whipped cream for garnish optional
  • maraschino cherries for optional garnish

Instructions

  • Set ice cream out for about 5 minutes to soften slightly.
  • Add ice cream, milk, creme de menthe and whipping cream vodka to a blender.
  • Blend until smooth.
  • Pour into glasses.
  • Garnish with whipped cream and maraschino cherries.

Notes

  • Non-Alcoholic Shakes: Substitute the creme de menthe for 1 teaspoon peppermint extract and skip the vodka. Increase milk to 1/3 cup. Add a few drops of green food coloring to make them green.
  • Make it Green: Creme de menthe comes in green or white, which is clear. If you have white, you can add a few drops of green food coloring to make the shakes a festive green color. 
  • Vodka: We used whipping cream vodka, vanilla vodka or plain vodka works great too. 
  • Storage: Leftover milkshakes can be frozen in an airtight container up to 1 month.
