Caprese Appetizers

Caprese Appetizers are the easiest appetizer to make for parties. A fresh and delicious bite that is always a big hit for any holiday celebration or family gathering.

Ingredients

  • 1 pint cherry or grape tomatoes
  • 8 ounces Mozzarella pearls
  • 1 bunch fresh basil
  • 1 tablespoon extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon balsamic glaze
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Thread tomatoes and mozzarella pearls with fresh basil leaves onto appetizer picks. 
  • Place on a serving platter.
  • Drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze. 
  • Season with salt and pepper. 
  • Serve immediately. 

How to Make Balsamic Vinegar Glaze:

  • Add 3 tablespoons balsamic vinegar and 3 tablespoons brown sugar to a small saucepan and place over medium heat.
  • Stir until sugar dissolves when mixture begins to bubble cook an additional 1 to 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside until ready to serve.

Notes

How to Make Ahead:

  1. Create the skewers and place in an airtight container up to 4 hours in advance and refrigerate.
  2. Place on a platter and drizzle with olive oil and balsamic glaze, salt and pepper before serving.
