Fried Cabbage

Ingredients

  • 3 slices thick cut bacon
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 large onion sliced thin
  • 14 oz slaw mix shredded cabbage and carrots
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

Instructions

  • Cut bacon into small slices and add to a skillet. Cook over medium heat, turning to brown both sides until crispy.
  • Remove bacon to a paper towel lined plate to drain and set aside.
  • Melt butter into bacon grease and add onions, slaw mix along with salt and pepper.
  • Cook over medium heat, stirring often until vegetables are softened and just start to caramelize.
  • Stir in bacon and serve immediately.
