Outback Blooming Onion

Slice off the top of the onion, remove peel, leave root end intact. Start with the root end up, about 1/4 inch out, slice into quarters. Then 3 slices in between each.  Turn over and spread petals apart.

Mix flour and seasonings in a bowl. In another bowl mix milk, buttermilk & egg.

Deep fry until golden brown.

Serve with blooming onion sauce.
