Marx Foods was kind enough to send a box of goodies for our Thanksgiving Virtual Potluck. It reminded me of an episode of Food Network’s Chopped. Except for we weren’t required to use every ingredient. Thank goodness for me but I think some of my fellow Potlucker’s may have!
My box included mushrooms, dried chilie’s,vanilla beans and rice. I used the porcini mushrooms in last weeks VP post for the best from scratch pasta sauce, ever! I’ve used some of the dried chilie’s here, in this must have appetizer.
I am generally in charge of the appetizers and desserts for Thanksgiving and sometimes I cook the ham. So I knew I wanted to bring a delicious appetizer to this Virtual Potluck. This is adapted from my sister-in-law’s signature appetizer, shrimp roll. If you like shrimp, you will love it.
Be sure to head over to Cookistry where Donna has rounded up all of this weeks Virtual Potluck posts. There are some delicious Thanksgiving dishes that you will want to add to your menu. I know there are main dishes, sides, desserts and even a spectacular coctail!
Marx was also kind enough to give us a couple of extra samples that we could share with you. Marx has a huge variety of incredible foods. From meats, to seafood, to mushrooms, chilies, truffles, vanilla beans and more.
Marx is also offering a discount code to the Virtual Potluck fans. Just enter “Potluck” into the coupon code and you will receive 10% off anything in the store! Valid 11/21- 11/27/2011.
