I used the Raspberry Creamy Balsamic Glaze from Star Fine Foods to kick this easy skillet meal up a notch. It added amazing flavor to the sausage, peppers, and onions.
Star was nice enough to send me their three new glazes to try. Look for them in your local grocery store, I love them! Seriously, the glaze added all of the flavor the dish needed, I didn’t even use salt or pepper! It was the perfect compliment with the peppers and onions and really jazzed up the smoked sausage.
Serve this Raspberry Balsamic Smoked Sausage up with pasta or rice, you could even use it to make pizza or even easier a French bread pizza! Lots of possibilities. Honestly I wanted to make pizza but I was out of cheese. Gasp! I know I need to get to the grocery store, but today was all about the paperwork.
While I was finishing up my paperwork, I thought I heard a calf bawl. I stood up and looked out the window and all of the calves had escaped into the driveway.
I was home by myself, so I took Tuffy (the dog) and went to put them back. I got my exercise in for sure, but I did get them back in and didn’t even fall down in the snow!
The lesson I learned for next time is to take the time to find socks before I go running through the snow in my muck boots. Can you say huge blister? I can.
So you see I needed a quick and easy supper and this was just perfect!
Raspberry Balsamic Glazed Smoked Sausage with Peppers & Onions
- 1 tablespoon Star Olive Oil
- 2 cups sliced sweet peppers
- 2 medium onions, sliced
- 1 1/2 pounds smoked sausage, sliced into 1 inch slices
- 1/2 cup Star Raspberry Creamy Balsamic Glaze
Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add peppers and onions and cook about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally. Add smoked sausage and cook until onions are translucent, stirring often. Add Raspberry Creamy Balsamic Glaze and stir until well combined. Lower heat to low and cook an additional 5 minutes.
Serve over pasta or rice.
