In 1981 my Father-in-Law came to visit us and stayed all night. I served Chicken and Dumplings like my Mom and her Mom had made that evening. The dumplings are like a biscuit dough that you put in the pot for 15 minutes and uncover and cook for 15 minutes. I will never forget it though, he said, “This is not the Chicken and Dumplings I remember growing up, and I cannot get my wife to recreate the dish of my youth.” He described the dumplings that are in this post. I really wish he was here, so I could make this dish for him. He would be smiling. Isn’t it funny the dumplings differ in different parts of the country?
