 I think it would be fine at room temperature but I am not sure it will be as good served cold with the caramelized onions and ham but it might be fine, I just haven&#039;t tried it. Let me know if you try it.

Hi Ruthann,
 Sliced or chopped will work for the onions, chopped are a little easier to scoop when they are mixed into the dip. I think you could keep it warm in the crockpot for your party.
